“As teachers in a Steiner National School, we take on the responsibility to work with the whole person that is each child. We present the Primary School Curriculum in a manner that balances the intellectual, emotional and physical intelligences. Experiencing all these is crucial to the healthy development of the young human being”.

Teacher-Child Ratios
At Raheen Wood Community National School, we take child to staff ratios extremely seriously, especially in Kindergarten where the children learn by doing and spend a significant part of every day experiencing nature in the garden.
Further up the school, woodwork and handwork still feature strongly along with specialist teaching of a second language. The school has Class teachers and Special Education / Resource teachers who are trained National school teachers paid by the Department of Education and Skills.
From time to time specific children require Special Needs Assistants trained in their role and paid by the Department of Education and Skills. Subject teachers and Kindergarten assistants are funded by parental contribution and fundraising efforts.
